Because our role extends beyond simply hosting events, we are committed to making the LDLC Arena an environmentally responsible organisation that cares for its local community and its audiences.

A BUILDING DESIGNED TO LAST

The LDLC Arena was born out of a strong desire to transform an existing site into a sustainable and forward-looking venue for live performances.

Built on a former industrial brownfield site that has been remediated, it contributes to the sustainable regeneration of the area. The project has reduced the building’s footprint by 11 per cent and incorporated low-impact materials, such as low-carbon concrete. Beyond the building itself, the construction site was also a people-centred project, with over 65,000 hours of work experience provided in partnership with the MMIE and Vinci Construction.

Generating energy differently is the choice made by the LDLC Arena to combine performance, energy efficiency and sustainability. Our venue operates responsibly all year round.

RENEWABLE ENERGY AT THE HEART OF OUR OPERATIONS

From the very outset, the LDLC Arena opted for cleaner, locally sourced energy. Thanks to geothermal and solar energy, the site meets a large proportion of its energy needs using renewable resources, whilst significantly reducing its CO₂ emissions. Geothermal energy enables the hall’s temperature to be regulated throughout the year, with a focus on performance and energy efficiency. At the same time, 5,500 m² of photovoltaic panels generate local electricity accounting for 41 per cent of the site’s consumption, equivalent to that of 270 households, thereby reducing CO₂ emissions by 75 per cent compared with a gas-fired system.

CONSERVING RESOURCES

Water management and greening are an integral part of the project. The LDLC Arena collects and reuses rainwater for the upkeep of its grounds and toilet facilities, whilst developing green roofs that contribute to the site’s natural regulation and local biodiversity. A focus on resources, both now and in the future.

Encouraging more sustainable travel

Because the experience begins the moment you set off, the LDLC Arena encourages sustainable modes of transport.

Easily accessible via the T3 and T7 tram lines, connected to the European rail network and equipped with 108 charging points for electric vehicles, it helps its users make more responsible transport choices.
