Behind his aesthetic, inspired by the icons of 1970s and 1980s cinema, lies an artist with a distinct artistic vision, recognised as one of the standard-bearers of modern funk. Drawing on influences ranging from funk, disco and zouk, Dabeull has successfully reinterpreted a rich musical heritage to create an authentic, warm and resolutely contemporary sound, crafted entirely using vintage 1970s synthesisers.
