For nearly forty years, Texas have established themselves as one of the most influential bands on the British pop-rock scene. Led by Sharleen Spiteri’s distinctive voice, the Scottish band has spanned the decades with a string of hits, building a career marked by essential tracks such as ‘I Don’t Want a Lover’ and ‘Summer Son’.
In 1997, Texas reached a milestone with the release of *White on Blonde*, an album that has become a benchmark of British pop. Buoyed by several hit singles, this fourth album propelled the band to the top of the charts and remains their biggest commercial success to this day, with over four million copies sold worldwide.
Thirty years on from this iconic album, Texas are marking the anniversary with a special tour that brings back the tracks that defined a whole generation. It’s a chance for fans to rediscover the world of *White on Blonde* on stage and relive the highlights of an album that left a lasting mark on the band’s history.
Over the decades, Texas have managed to preserve what makes them so strong: a keen sense of melody, an instantly recognisable musical identity and a rare closeness to their audience. With a mix of classic hits and more recent tracks, the band continues to write its own story with the same sincerity, cementing its unique place on the international pop-rock scene.
