Lorenzo Musetti will compete in the inaugural Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Grand Prix

The line-up for the 2026 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Grand Prix continues to take shape. The tournament is delighted to announce today that Lorenzo Musetti will be taking part in its very first edition.

Following an injury in the spring, the Italian made his return to competition at the end of July at the ATP 500 in Washington, with the aim of quickly regaining his place among the world’s top players. He has already begun to make headway towards that goal, notably by reaching the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati last week.

At just 24 years old, Lorenzo Musetti is one of the most talented players on the tour. Whilst he currently has two ATP titles to his name, there is no doubt about his potential. In fact, he started the 2026 season at his career-high ranking of world number 5, before his momentum was halted by an injury following the Rome Masters 1000 in early May. Now ranked 15th in the world, the Italian is determined to return to the form that took him to the top of the ATP rankings.

The crowd at the LDLC Arena will be delighted to welcome back a player who has only appeared once on Lyon soil. That was in 2021, at the Parc de la Tête d’Or, during the Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, where he reached the semi-finals.

Lorenzo Musetti thus joins an already particularly strong line-up, alongside Gaël Monfils, Stan Wawrinka, Valentin Vacherot and Ugo Humbert, who have already been announced for this inaugural edition of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Grand Prix. The event is scheduled to take place from 18 to 25 October at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines, where the initial announcements already point to a week of top-class tennis and some particularly promising fixtures.
